Mayor Hastings awarded the trophies.  He said, “To have 11 teams come out to Orland Hills for our very first tournament is a great start. Mayor Kyle R. Hastings recently announced at a public meeting that road improvements are scheduled for Haven Avenue from 159th Street to 163rd Street.  The project is planned to begin in late 2013 depending on Illinois Department of Transportation programming.
Many residents from Haven Avenue attended the meeting at the Village Hall to reveiw plans that were presented by Mayor Hastings, the Project Engineer and the Village Administrator.
The rehabilitation project for Haven Avenue will include total re-construction and widening of the street with drainage improvements, tree replacements and new sidewalks on both sides of Haven.  The project will cost about $1,000,000 with federal and state participation.
Haven Avenue residents are encouraged to help in the selection of trees for replacement on the street parkway.  Haven Avenue residents should select one of the attached trees and return the form to the Village Hall by February 10, 2012.
