MINUTES

FOR THE REGULAR VILLAGE BOARD MEETING

OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND HILLS, ILLINOIS

FOR JANUARY 2, 2008

President Hastings called the meeting to order at 8:08 p.m.

Clerk Burke called the roll with the following results. Present: President Kyle Hastings, Trustees: Diggs, Gnech, Hanley, Morrison and O’Neill, Administrator Daly, Attorney Shine, Recreation Director Bilina, Building Commissioner Ennesser, Public Works Director Worley, Chief Scully and  Deputy Chief Blaha.  Absent: Trustee Million, Assistant Public Works Director O’Hern, ESDA Director Leddin and Transportation Director Coleman.  

With a quorum having been established, a salute to the flag was proffered. 

President’s Report: President Hastings

Proclamation # 2008-1001, Girl Scout Cookie TIme was read into the record.

Proclamation # 2008-1002, Martin Luther King Day was read into the record.

Clerk Burke requested support of a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Village Board Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees for December 19, 2007.  Motion made by Trustee Morrison, Seconded by Trustee Hanley.  Ayes: Trustees: Morrison, O’Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley.  Nays: None.  Absent: Million.  MOTION CARRIED.

Finance Report: Trustee O'Neill

Trustee O'Neill moved, Seconded by Trustee Hanley to approve Warrant # 07-08-35; being all regular bill payments for this period, which report is titled as “Miscellaneous Accounts Payable” and which report is dated January 2, 2008, in the amount of $46,934.95.  Ayes: Trustees: Morrison, O’Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley.  Nays: None.  Absent: Million.  MOTION CARRIED.

Administrator Daly advised that since 1993, Mayor Hastings has seen to it that no tax burden for these bonds has fallen on the shoulders of the residents, and that this year is no different.
