MINUTES
FOR THE REGULAR VILLAGE BOARD MEETINGOF THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESOF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND HILLS, ILLINOISFOR SEPTEMBER 3, 2008
President Hastings called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Clerk Burke called the roll with the following results. Present: President Kyle R. Hastings, Clerk Burke, Trustees: Diggs, Gnech, Hanley, Million, Morrison and O'Neill, Administrator Daly, Attorney Shine, Recreation Director Bilina, Building Commissioner Ennesser, Public Works Director Worley, Assistant Public Works Director O’Hern, Chief Scully (8:09), Deputy Chief Blaha and Treasurer Roti. Absent: Transportation Director Coleman and ESDA Director Leddin.
With a quorum having been established, a salute to the flag was proffered.
President’s Report: President Hastings President Hastings read aloud Proclamation # 2008-1027 for Save A Life Month. President Hastings read aloud Proclamation # 2008-1028 for Constitution Week. President Hastings expressed deepest sympathy to the Bonnie Holloway Family on her passing. He further explained how Bonnie's passing has affected the family of the Village, and that she will be missed as one of our most valued employees.
Clerk’s Report: Clerk Burke Clerk Burke requested support of a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Village Board Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees for August 27, 2008, as presented. Motion made by Trustee Morrison, seconded by Trustee Gnech. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.

Finance Report: Trustee O'Neill Trustee O'Neill moved, seconded by Trustee Hanley to approve Warrant # 08-09-17; being all regular bill payments for this period, which report is titled as “Miscellaneous Accounts Payable” and which report is dated September 3, 2008, in the amount of $84,533.49. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED
Developmental, Planning & Zoning: Trustee Morrison No report at this time.

Youth, Education and Recreation: Trustee Morrison Trustee Morrison moved, seconded by Trustee Hanley to approve and authorize the execution of Program Instructor / Supervisor agreements, as presented. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.
Trustee Morrison announced the Annual Fishing Derby being held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Ashbourne Lake and the Annual Craft Fair being held on Saturday and Sunday at the Community Center.
Economic Development/ Environmental Committee: Trustee Diggs No report at this time.
Audience Comments: Joe and Chris Janczewski of Orland Hills expressed their concern regarding apron replacements on Vicky Lane and asked that the Building Commissioner look into the lack of maintenance on the garage behind 16737 S. 89th Ave.
Mary Bragg of Orland Hills expressed her concern for the slow progress and hours of operation on the construction at 16125 S. 94th Ave.
Old Business: None at this time.
Adjournment: No further business was to be heard so, President Hastings requested support of a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:18 pm. Motion made by Trustee Morrison, Seconded by Trustee Gnech. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED - MEETING ADJOURNED.
