MINUTES
FOR THE REGULAR VILLAGE BOARD MEETINGOF THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESOF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND HILLS, ILLINOISFOR AUGUST 27, 2008
President Hastings called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Clerk Burke called the roll with the following results. Present: President Kyle R. Hastings, Clerk Burke, Trustees: Diggs, Gnech, Hanley, Million, Morrison and O'Neill, Administrator Daly, Attorney Shine, Recreation Director Bilina, Building Commissioner Ennesser, Public Works Director Worley, Chief Scully and Deputy Chief Blaha. Absent: Assistant Public Works Director O’Hern, Treasurer Roti, Transportation Director Coleman and ESDA Director Leddin.
With a quorum having been established, a salute to the flag was proffered.

Clerk’s Report: Clerk Burke Clerk Burke requested support of a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Village Board Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees for August 6, 2008, as presented. Motion made by Trustee Morrison, seconded by Trustee Gnech. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.

Finance Report: Trustee O'Neill Trustee O'Neill moved, seconded by Trustee Hanley to approve Warrant # 08-09-15; being all regular bill payments for this period, which report is titled as “Miscellaneous Accounts Payable” and which report is dated August 27, 2008, in the amount of $119,303.67. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED
Developmental, Planning & Zoning: Trustee Morrison Trustee Morrison moved, seconded by Trustee Gnech to approve Ordinance # 2008-014, granting a variance for a fence, located at 16189 S. Quail Court, as presented. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.
Trustee Morrison moved, seconded by Trustee Gnech to approve Ordinance # 2008-015, granting a variance for an addition, located at 16701 S. Haven Avenue, as presented. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.
Police & Fire: Trustee Hanley No report at this time.
Public Works: Trustee Hanley Trustee Hanley moved, seconded by Trustee Morrison to approve and authorize the execution of documents with PT Ferro Company of Joliet for street resurfacing work on Vicky Lane, per bid specifications, in the amount of $67,035.20, as bid and recommended by Engineer Brink. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.
Trustee Hanley moved, seconded by Trustee O'Neill to approve and authorize the execution of documents with Pavement Systems, Inc. of Blue Island for street striping work, per proposal, in the amount of $13,260.00, as presented and recommended by Director Worley. Ayes: Trustees: Million, Morrison, O'Neill, Diggs, Gnech and Hanley. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.
Youth, Education and Recreation: Trustee Morrison Trustee Morrison announced the Fishing Derby and the Second Annual Craft Fair.
