2009 Holiday Happenings

1. SANTA COLORING CONTEST
Color the Santa and win a holiday surprise. Starting November 25th, all resident entries will be made available at the Community Center,16553 S. Haven Ave. Boys and girls ranging from 4 thru 12 years will be eligible to participate. Entry deadline is December 10th , winners will be announced December 10th.  Winners will be announced December 11th. 

2. SANTA’S CALLING
For all resident children 6 yrs. and under whose parents completed the “Santa's Fact Calling Sheet.” Starting November 25th, forms will be available at the Community Center till December 6th. Santa’s calls will be on Wednesday, December 9th, from 5 to 8 pm.  A Santa Fact Sheet is available at the Recreation Center.  This event is for Orland Hills residents only.

3. LETTERS TO SANTA
Beginning November 25th thru December 6th, residents between the ages of 2 thru 8 yrs. may drop off a letter to Santa located at the Community Center. Please include your name and address, so Santa can write back. This activity is for Orland Hills residents only.

4. HOLIDAY CARRIAGE RIDES
Start off the Holiday Season by taking a ride in a horse drawn carriage at Kelly Park, 16633 S. Haven Avenue. This activity is a free event to all residents, Saturday, December 12th from 11:00 am-2:00pm.

5. HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST
Open to all residents in the Village of Orland Hills. Judging will begin on Wednesday, December 15th between the hours of 7 to 9 pm. Please register your house at the Community Center or call the Recreation Hot-line at 708-349-7211. Prizes will be awarded to the three best decorated homes.

6. BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: Georgios Banquets
Join us for a special breakfast with Santa Claus at Georgios Banquet Hall, 8800 W. 159th Street, on Saturday , December 19th. Enjoy a hot breakfast buffet, a souvenir photo, and a surprise treat from Santa; a morning that is sure to delight parents and children alike! Advance Ticket Sales Only, 11/25 thru 12/16 at the Community Center. Resident Adults $10.00, Resident child 12 yrs. and under FREE.
